Yes... [So he says, willing to continue on to the edge of his energy. There was about another minute and a half of silence before he finally felt something.]
Hm?!
[A pain at the bridge of his nose that shot rapidly between both eyes. Power from Jewels people around him wore faded in and out aggressively as if a spotlight was being switched on and off directly in his eyes. With a sharp gasp he recoiled, cutting the flow of power from his Jewel and tugging from their psychic thread slightly. Though Rhus couldn't see it, he pressed a hand hard against one eye, waiting for the other to adjust to his normal sight as for a moment he couldn't see a thing.]
[The longer than usual pauses between his words showed his mind wasn't entirely There yet, but gathering his bearings another question on impulse came out.]
Have you yet glimpsed another's past since arriving?
... The boy. The one what were in prison right now, for killin' the councilwoman.
If we could look into memories at will, an' find what we need, some moral dilemmas would be easily avoided. [The one the Queen had. If they could find out the motivations of someone without them opening their mouth, then a conclusion could be made so much more quickly.]
Hmm. [He's silent after that hum himself, not just due to his mind recovering. He never gave this any thought, so he admired the fact that Rhus had. As he did many traits of the Warrior of Light.]
Indeed it would solve such problems quickly... Then as long as it takes you will have my assistance in seeing how the Jewels might give us this control. I will not fail you. [Rhus' answer wouldn't have stopped him regardless and not just because he's the only other one with this power. But he seemed to imply that he was willing to keep going despite his energy being drained.]
Ah, seven hells. [That mumbling sounds far too much like someone feeling faint out of sheer tiredness. The medic in Rhus cant allow him to ignore this.]
[Rhus may run, though he keeps the psychic link open, even if Takame will not be able to hear the sounds of exertion from his end from the Miqo'te filtering them out.
But he may be able to hear the footsteps eventually, as Rhus finds him.]
You're a great bleedin' idiot, you know? [is the Miqo'te's greeting once he skids to a halt before the Au Ra.]
[Indeed he did hear Rhus' footsteps as he grew closer, but Takame barely looked up at him. While he sounded more coherent over their psychic link he looked much worse for wear in person hunched over, gripping his forehead with one hand to dull pain and covering one of his eyes to shield them from any more light. All he could do was give a single weak nod.]
Yes... [The sight of an idiot who would have kept at it and had nothing more to say for himself.]
[If Rhus were less experienced with Au Ra, he would have yanked the man up by a horn. But he knows that it will pain Takame even further, so instead he reaches back and tugs on the Au Ra's hair.]
[There's a grunt when Rhus tugged on his hair. He wasn't expecting the pull and his body in its hypersensitive state responded as if he were struck across the head. The reaction lasted for a fraction of a second before he gave another small nod, forgetting it even happened.]
I can... Pray, give me a moment... [He took one deep breath, then exhaled slowly. Another, bringing himself up gradually from his slouch, and exhaled. He repeated it once more until he was standing upright again if still rubbing at the side of his head. The pain was still there pounding at him and he felt exhausted but he could stand.]
No, no, up you go. [Rhus tucks one arm around Takame's shoulders, and the other underneath the Au Ra's knees, bending down as he goes.] Put your arm 'round my shoulders.
[Is he really going to carry Takame? Is he really?
[Takame wasn't exaggerating when he said he could stand and yet he barely got a word in before Rhus was already half carrying him.
He wouldn't argue, he couldn't for a number of reasons, his frazzled mind being one of them. He just accepted that this would be a thing that happens, raising his arm to put around Rhus' shoulder. Being an entire fulm taller than Rhus this surely would not be an odd sight.]
Aye, jus' like that-- Oof! [Rhus grunts as he hefts Takame up into his arms like someone with a bride.] Least you ain't bleedin' heavy.
[So Au Ra are rather tall. Takame is nearly a fulm taller than Rhus himself, only two or three ilms shy of that, but at least he's not a Roegadyn, otherwise the tiny Miqo'te would never have had a chance in any of the seven hells to accomplish this.
Takame is heavy, but not too heavy for Rhus. Not quite.
[His voice trailed off again showing his fatigue. It would have taken Takame a long while to reach his room on his own. He would try, and eventually he would make it, but not without incident.]
[Rhus' nose wrinkles, a scowl nearly appearing on his face, but the Miqo'te fights it back somewhat.]
You idiot boy, you'd have taken hours gettin' there on your own two feet. [Rhus tucks Takame as close to him as he possible can, and sets off. They must seem a sight to the people of Draega, really, but Rhus is used to carrying fools so many ilms taller than himself, and some even in heavy armour.]
[Takame was aware of his folly, so much so he couldn't blame Rhus for wanting to scowl though he didn't see it from the angle he was being carried. He was called an idiot and a fool so often by so many what would really make him one would be to not know.
He wasn't a fool enough to lie to Rhus, to a healer either. He was still sensitive to every sliver of light.]
'S a given, I think. [For a moment Rhus has to pause and get his bearings before heading down the proper hallway. He nearly bites his lower lip, but remembers not to with the sensation of his fangs poking at the skin.]
Somethin' cold against your face should do well. I shan't be handin' you a potion for that.

What in the hells happened-- Takame, for kami's sake. [Rhus lets out a rumble that can be heard through the psychic link.] Did you overreach?
no subject
Perhaps I did overdo it... but I am fine. The Jewels can undoubtedly have some effect on the Echo it would seem.

You've any ice in your rooms?

He's walked off worse than exhaustion and splitting head pain without proper care, he just shook his head softly.]
I don't. But there is no need for it... I will be fine.
